Our Journey So Far
Our first project started in 2011 at Raichur, Karnataka on a 140-acre barren plot.
We set up infrastructure to meet the requirements of dry land cultivation.
We succeeded in cultivating innovative crops like Guar gum, which is used in petroleum extraction, and extended that success to 1500+ smallholder farmers.
In 2015, Project Raichur was repurposed into a renewable energy plant, housing 48 megawatts of solar and wind power.
Our 105-acre Project at Depalle, Telangana commenced in 2016 for the purpose of cultivating vegetables.
Kheyti collaborated with CosmosGreen’s Depalle project to innovate micro greenhouses and crop practices for a wide portfolio of vegetables. From this research, Kheyti reduced the cost of the greenhouse from $50,000 to $1000 and developed safe practices to grow 15+ vegetables to multiply yields using less than 10% water compared to open-field farming. This success is now being replicated in many states, reaching 1000s of villages.
To advance sustainable farm practices, we established infrastructure and state-of-the-art climate smart R&D facilities in collaboration with Kheyti
In 2021, we responsibly divested 30% of the project and are currently operating with the rest.
Starting in 2021, our project at Veltoor Telangana is a 150-acre Farm-Tech Initiative
The project lies 2 hours away from the Financial District of Hyderabad, a 5-minute drive from the Hyderabad - Bangalore Highway and abutting a 350-acre natural lake with encompassing irrigation facilities.
Our focus is to develop climate-smart fruit farming practices. This includes sustainable animal husbandry and afforestation for improving carbon sink in a remunerative way.
After we complete the project period, we will leave behind dense vegetation and a safe farm. The expected end state is in 5 - 7 years.
